Drip under drivers side dash

When it rains I get water drips that show up under my dash, does anyone know where this comes from? I'm guessing the front cowl where the door vents and heater get their air from?

Check the body seam under the dash ,that leak usually starts from the windshield seam at the gasket ,pull your cowl panel off to see the extent of the corrosion .

Thumbs up Re: Drip under drivers side dash

I would say it's the curve in the windshield gasket. Look right in the center of the curve and you should see a small hole in your dash also which will let the drip into the floor as your picture shows.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Drip under drivers side dash

My truck has the same leak, and I haven't found the source either. During really heavy rain I'll get a similar drip on the passenger side. I noticed that if I park the truck pointed up hill, the drip isn't as bad as when the truck is level or pointed down hill.

Windshield gasket. Water comes in behind it at the top corner then runs down the inside of the gasket. The dash has a hole in it in that curved area for it to drip to the floor.

Thanks Andy, fortunately I am do for a windshield so that sounds like an easy enough fix.

Sounds like GM was planning ahead with the hole in the dash!
