The black truck is my ride...........Gaylords' is probably the only way to go for our trucks.

This one wraps over the sides and the tailgate......when locked down secures the load completely.

Had to get a second one from them. Had that one on 30 days and the paint started to separate. Their fault, talked with the president of the company. They had tried a different paint and had a chemical reaction. Split the paint job like a dash left in the hot sun.

Second unit holding up very well.

And they paid everthing on the replacement including the shipping to get it to me.

Steven Sellers, glad you liked the truck.

Just purchased and installed a Checkmate flush mount on my '72 step. I haven't had it on the road yet so don't know where the leaks will occur. This was more economical than Gaylords' but doesn't have over the rail coverage which would probably give you better weather proofing. Comes in black or white - you can paint to your desire. I'm going to leave it black for awhile to see how I like it. You can purchase security locks as well. I got the idea from a previous post.

I went to a car show and a guy had this

he said he made it himself out of a side of a ryder van (fiberglass and some type of core...don't remember)

I figured I'd make my own too when I get a welder. I don't want one that goes over the rail. I may check into checkers too.

Steven Sellers,

Don't mind at all that you post those pics.

This truck had the flush mount on it, but leaked like carzy. And at this time I have to leave it parked outside.
