crank pulley search
I am in process of acquiring power steering parts for my 72 c20, 350, short pump, non-AC, currently manual steer truck with a 1 groove crank pulley.
I am looking for a 3 groove, OEM style crank pulley in black as this is what is needed for this conversion (to my knowledge, based off my research here, please confirm?) Im having a hell of a time finding a 3 groove pulley, in black, Summit has one shown but it has a disclaimer on it that it requires a matching water pump pulley or something another.... Where can I find a 3 groove black crank pulley for my 72 350??????? This is all i see on summit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g3972b/overview/ "This pulley must be used with either a SummitŪ or Trans-Dapt Performance steel water pump pulley for proper belt alignment."

Re: crank pulley search
Check with some of the vendors that are on this site. Or better yet, become a premium member (best 25 bucks you will ever spend!) and place a Want To Buy on the parts board.

Re: crank pulley search
i hadnt searched every vendor due to lack of time, but expected a generic (and common) sbc part to be relatively simple to find and not likely offered at the 67-72 vendor shops, that may have been a bad assumption.
If anyone knows of a place to find one, please let me know If not i will continue the hunt

Re: crank pulley search
I cant guarantee it off hand but i think the 2 groove pulley on this page mates up with the stock inner pulley. I can verify the numbers of the stock pulleys later as i'm not home at the moment.

Re: crank pulley search
This is an aftermarket stock replacement set i bought a bout 4 years ago, the inner pulley number matches my stock pulley so i don't have any reason to think that the number on the front pulley would be different.
Google 3744043 pulley and it will show some results.

Re: crank pulley search
Swamp rat, the pulley in the top pic is the 2 groove, and lower is an oem single groove?
I noticed the part numbers in the link you posted and your upper pic are very close, but one digit off. However both appear to be sbc 2 groove pulleys. (3744043 vs 374403) Thanks a ton for the help

Re: crank pulley search
Were the 3 groove pulleys a single piece? I remember pulling a couple sbc apart, and the 3 groove pulley was a separate 2 groove pulley in front of a regular single groove pulley against the balancer.
