Dome Light LED Bulb Wont work

My interior dome light is working perfect. I removed the bulb and when I installed the LED bulb it wouldn't work. I used search on here but from what I found out it should work. Oh yea, I have package of 4 bulbs and tried two of them with the same results. Anyone got an idea why the LED bulb won't work. I have no other LED's in the truck.

Just a thought. LEDs are polarity sensitive. Have you tried it both ways? Also, it looks like the footprint of the LED is different than the filament bulb, maybe it's not seated in the clips properly.

Thank you drfloyd. Went back out the truck and when I touched the bulb to the contacts it lit up. I must have been 0 for 2 with the polarity the first time.

I bet that LED is literally like night vs. day.

How does the LED compare to the old bulb? I've been meaning to replace the old cover and bulb on my dome light since I bought the truck, but I've never gotten around to it. The lens has turned yellow/orange and it barely puts out enough light to see anything in the cab at night.

I went LED for the under dash courtesy lights in my Blazer. Used a "soft white" type, and it still lights the heck out of the truck. Love em.

Re: Dome Light LED Bulb Wont work

I installed a similar LED for my cab light, and it is pretty amazing how much brighter it is than the old dingy dim bulbs. And you don't have to worry about the lens discoloring from the heat!

This is the one I used. Doesn't have as many LEDs, but it's plenty bright.

Re: Dome Light LED Bulb Wont work

I had a new cover as well and have installed it with the bulb this morning. I will have to wait until darkness tonight to check but I can tell you in the bright daylight when i installed the led I was looking at it and it was almost blinding. I expect it will really light up the cab especially with the new cover.

Cleszkie if your under dash lights are a factory install can you post some pics on how they are mounted. Also what # LED bulb did you use in them. I bought a set from Roger Koop and what to install them in my truck.

Re: Dome Light LED Bulb Wont work

Tried it in the dark last night and wow the LED floods the whole inside of the truck. Can't wait to get the Blazer under dash lights hooked up with LED's then when the door open at night it'll be like daylight inside the cab.
