.....I thought Cheyenne Supers were 1972 only?
Weren't just 'Cheyennes' the top truck in 1971? (on the GMC side of things Sierra Grande vs. Sierra) ....correct me if I'm wrong on this. All Good Coley

71 supers had a chrome tailgate handle. Was changed to a stainless handle cover in 72. Brian's truck shows the below eyeline mirror for the 71 MY. Differs from 72.

I had a very rusty 71 Cheyenne Super about a year ago. It was built around early May 1971. It seems like the rear end, intake, alternator, tranny, and the carburetor were all dated around May 4. I will have to pull out some pictures when I get home.

Pete, what's different about the mirrors? My '72 Super has those same mirrors.

Joey, if you look at Brian's mirrors they have longer arms and mount below the upper moldings and the 72 style mount above the moldings like your truck.

Aha. Thanks Ray. You learn something new every day. BTW, the truck is coming along nicely and should be road trip ready by June 1st! I have definitely been enjoying working on it.
