What is the difference between how these trucks look?

hey all, i am looking at these two trucks, one is a 66 gmc, and one is a 65 gmc. From what i know, all these gm 60-66 trucks should be exactly the same sheet metal (with minor changes, i know)
My question is, why do these trucks look so different? is it all the size of the wheels? i much prefer the way the white truck looks, but that is only a matter of stance, right? with smaller wheels the primered truck would look the same? The white one looks longer, is that an illusion? let me know what you guys think. thanks.
also, is it a deal breaker if one has rear coil springs? ive always wanted to drive one of these with rear coils, but does it really improve ride quality much?
thanks
Ben

Aside from the photo angle and the colors, they look the same to me. GMC offered coil rear springs as an option for a short time. Double check the VIN on the cab and frame to make sure it is not a Chevy chassis.

I see what you mean. I would say it is the camera angle and the width and height of the photo. Little things like that can create optical illusions.

Re: What is the difference between how these trucks look?

I agree, they both look the same to me. The camera angle makes a slight difference as your looking nearly straight on on the white and looking slightly down on the blue. Also color is making a difference. On the white, the body lines stand out better. The blue has the shadows and color sort of washing out the lines a-bit. The blue also has slightly "meatier" tires and the white has slightly more low profile tires. But that may also just be an illusion caused by the whitewall vs blackwall. But stance wise they look the same to me.

i see, well thanks a ton you guys, i think the blue one looks to be a better deal, even though it does have the leaf spring rear.

I like the coil rear, they ride so sweet and so easy to bag if you want, wheels and ties and stance can be altered on either, so go with the one that's in the best shape, or in the configuration you want to start with.

Coil spring setup makes it ride sooooo nice. Leaf springs makes it ride like a truck.
