71 c10 wheels

So i have a 71 c10 that is lowered 3/5 drop. I am looking at some 20x8.5 with 5.125bs and 20x9.5 with 5.75 bs and would like to put 255/40 up front and 295/40 out back. I am curious if they have the right backspacing and if anyone has any pics with this setup.

20x8.5's w/5.25-5.5"bs is typical for disc equipped 67-72's when super low. If only doing 3" you'll prob be ok but will likely have issues should you decide you want it lower @ some point.

Again, typical rear set-ups would be 20x10 w/5-5.5"bs or a 9.5" wheel @ 4.5-5"bs. That 5.75"bs for that rear size is excessive.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: 71 c10 wheels

Thanks for the help. I was looking at the summit 143 wheels and that was the closest back spacing I could get to those numbers. Guess I will look for something different.

Re: 71 c10 wheels

I'm not sure you should really run a 295/40 series tire on a 9.5" rim either. I know it has been done, but if you look at tire specs, they want at least a 10" rim for the 295/40. Maybe the only problem would be higher tire wear in the center??

I've been facing the same challenge myself - I like some of the 20x9.5" wheels, but if I go that route, I'll have to run a 275/40 or 275/45 tire.

295/40's will work fine on a 9.5" wheel.

Re: 71 c10 wheels

here is a 20x8.5 and 20x10 we did on my friends '68, using 255/40 and 315/35. Back still needs to come down a tad.
