Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.

With a very heavy heart I'm going to be leaving this site, I've lost my very sweet truck in the fire here. I'm doing this now because it's part of my therapy to help me mentally. My 7yr old son and I took her out last weekend from the long winters rest for our first drive of the season, but it would be her last. I'm so very thankful that my family is safe as we have lost absolutely everything. It's going to be a very tough road ahead for us, I want to thank the members of this site for helping me with my truck and for all the information I have gathered here. Here is a picture from last weekends drive.

Damn, and a step side too.

Will you be setting up a "go fund me" page?

*Stuff you can replace, lives and limbs you cannot. Be sure to thank the Almighty. I'll be praying for you and everyone else up there.

Our prayers from Tennessee. Stay strong, and hold the family close.

You have an extended family here, too. Why not hang around on the site for awhile. Maybe we can help in some small way.

This is truly a terrible disaster... or more like thousands combined into one. I am so sorry to hear of your total loss. I can try to imagine how that must feel, but doubt I can't get close to the true reality of it. I think it's great that you took that ride. Had no idea it would be the last, but now is something your son and you can always look back on as a "before the fire" memory to get you through rebuilding your lives. Best of everything to you

That is sure a shame about your truck, but at least you have some good memories. I will keep your family in my prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you so much! I will not be setting up a go fund me page as I have no idea how to or what it actually is. I will drop in here from time to time to look at other members trucks and to maybe vent a little when I need a break. Thanks again.

Really sorry to hear about the loss....bad news and a terrible situation.
The aftermath of this tragic event will take a while for people to get over but in the long run most possessions will be replaceable and that might be an opportunity.
If you do decide to look for another truck to replace that one....this will be the place to be and the place to get some help doing it.
Best of luck and lets hope that monster of a fire has its days numbered.

Regards,
Coley

Hopefully insurance takes care of you and your family, and hopefully in the end you and your son will get a payout and can look for a new project to build together. Sending best wishes from over here in SK.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Lost in the Fort McMurray Fire.

As a volunteer firefighter for the last 25 years i can not image your terrible experience. I have seen complete losses, but nothing even close to the wide spread destruction that has and is still occurring up in Canada. Please hang in there. I have seen terible thing, but keep positive, things will eventually workout. I'll be praying for your recovery.

The truck was special to you and your family, but....unlike you or your family it can be replaced! The most important things to you are safe, that's all that matters. Best in luck in the future

From a Saskatchewanian to an Albertan, sorry for your loss. I hope you're able to pick up the pieces and begin a fresh start, and hopefully, a fresh truck when the time is right.
