Rear axle for 1965 C10

Does a 1969 c10 rear axle bolt directly into a 1965 c10? Will the complete assembly from the '69, including trailing arms, bolt into the '65? Thanks.

The rears are the same as far as bolting in 63 to 72. The later ones will be 5 lug and are a little wider but it all interchanges.

I put an early 71 into a 66 which was an easy bolt in. Have you got the short panhard bar that bolts to the center section? If so, no sweat.

Thanks Jimmy and Vince. That is great news. I am going to NC from PA to get the 65 and it doesn't have a rear. I have access to a 69 here in PA. I'll be putting the rear in in NC to be able to tow the 65 home. Crazy I know but excited to be getting a 65.

As long as your using a 65 and up rear assy, your ok. The 64 back and 63 have a different panhard bar bracket on the rear housing and a differenmt panhard bar bracket on the frame. They could be made to work with some modifying but will not be a bolt in.

Re: Rear axle for 1965 C10

Parallel universes?
Last year I moved from PA to NC using my `63 for some of the move. When I went to reg it here I found it had orig been titled in NC ! I bought it going on 10 yrs ago in way upstate NY (damn near Canada) but knew from the lack of rust it must have been not long in the north. Could say I rescued it...or it me.
When I put fresh lube in the rear before the haul down south I found the ring gear stamped 1969 !

Good luck with your trip.
