Determining correct aftermarket differential

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a set of gears and a limited slip differential for my 82 c10. It has a 10 bolt rear end which I think is the 8.5". How many axle splines did these trucks have? Anyway to determine this without pulling axles. I'm seeing 28 & 30 spline applications.

We did swap the rear ends like 15 years ago. So I have no idea what exaxtly it came out of. If it boils down to it, I will pull the axles if I have to.

Anyone have any ideas?
