New member from So. California w/1972 GMC 5500
So, hello to all! I have purchased and partially restored a 1972 GMC 5500 Asplundh Line Lift truck with a 305E V6. When I get a minute I will post some pics of her, but for now I am trying to figure out why my driver side rocker rail is NOT oiling while I am showing plenty of oil pressure on the gauge. ANY ideas that will NOT have me completely tearing down the engine would be greatly appreciated. (PLEASE don't hold it against me that I am from California - we like old trucks out here too!) |

Disassemble the rocker system and check for sludge. My 305 V6 doesn't oil all that great on the top end when idling either, but reving it will increase the pressure and oil starts to go everywhere. Is it Bone dry? Or have you tried reving it? Is there a lot of sludge build up? What's the oil pressure?
