Parts sourcing question

I have a 1971 GMC 3/4 ton LONGHORN 2WD

I cant seem to find a place that sells the U bolts to fit my truck, It has the aux overload leaf and spacer blocks in it from factory. Do you know of a place that sells them, and have you seen them or installed a pair from your source?

every thing i find only asks for 4 or 5 leaf but nothing with an aux overload leaf added like the pics. Or what should I be looking for or be calling what I have.

Hoping to match factory as close as possible. My plans are to have it sand blasted and painted but before I cut the bolts I want to order new ones. I have been trying for a while now and they won't move.

Re: Parts sourcing question

I had mine made at a local spring shop. However this may not be an option where you are. When I say local I mean 20+ miles not around the corner.

Re: Parts sourcing question

special order from NAPA? Also a local area Tucson spring vendor can special order them. Not rare reslly, they just dont move off the shelf fast enough to stock.

Re: Parts sourcing question

It's of zero help to you, but mine were so well preserved I was able to remove the U-bolt nuts by hand, without an impact, and just wire-brush and powdercoat them!

Normally I'm cutting them off with a torch, but this one truck was just totally rust-free.

Re: Parts sourcing question

Here you go into Napa and give measurement and they print a sheet that has a drawing of a u bolt. You fill it out with them It has axle tube diameter, total length and thread length and bolt size. They make you pre pay then go in the back and 15 minutes later they hand them to you. Last summer I had some stock replacements made for a trailing arm rear 12$ each in grade 8
