I hate venders with no shipping to canada...

Like the title say but I want what I want and need some help. I am in the market for new brake and fuel hard lines, found some that I wanted and after all that research I find out they would let me order them online, as there is no billing option to put in my correct billing address. this is 2016 What the He((. I wish these companies would get with it.

I have a 71 GMC 2500 longhorn. and wanted to buy a kit front and back. INLINETUBE seems to be the only place online That I have been able to find that make a kit for the longhorn.

I am asking If there is someone willing to order the parts for me, I would pay you via paypal. I would ask you to order them and have them shipped to my US post address that I use.

I have all the part number from their catalog and am ready to go but I need a helping hand. I will say up front that there webpage ordering process is a PITA.

inlinetube.com

these are the part number I need ordered the online catalog I printed is dated May 2014 noted

1 of CTB7109I 1971 power disc longhorn full brake line set 11 pcs 3/4 ton leaf rear OE Steel $155.00

1 of CTF7103 1971 V8 Front to rear fuel line 3/4 ton 3/8" 2 pc OE steel $60.00

Send me a Pm if you are interested.

If you happen to know of a vender that has what I am looking for with out having to bend and fab my own lines pls let me know.

Have you tried www.rockauto.com, they seem to carry a pile of stuff and I've ordered with them before no surprises, was great.

Try Scott's super trucks in Penhold, Ab are great to deal with and have a lot in stock and a huge showroom (sweet) but have a mail order set up too I'm not sure about what the shipping cost is. They carry new and used parts. They say if they don't have it they will find it for you. Catalogue for each series of trucks. I think starting '32 right to '87 I like it they are in Canada and the costs are a lot less. They always get back to me anyway. You might find a place like that closer to you as well. It can save you time and hassle.

Re: I hate venders with no shipping to canada...

I too am in Canada and have run into the same problem. Firstly have you tried calling them instead of trying the on-line thing. The reason vendors that do not want to ship here have usually been burned over the years. What happens is that a Canadian orders something from the USA and the US vendor ships it via UPS, Fed Ex etc. When those couriers show up at your door with the parcel from the US they want money for "Broker Fees" which can get pretty pricey. A lot of times the person will refuse the shipment so the Courier sends it back to the US vendor and charges them the return shipping charges. After that happens a few times the US Vendor says its not worth the hassle for the small amount of business coming form Canada. You could try this place, I've never used them but a friend ordered a ton of stuff during rebuild and was very satisfied with the service.

Try Scotts Super Trucks in Penhold Alberta. They carry bent hard line kits for most applications. If it is available, they will either have it or will bring it in. Just got a S.S. kit for a short box. Nice stuff and a good price Canadian.

Re: I hate venders with no shipping to canada...

If you've ever tried to ship anything to Canada, you know why (or vice versa is almost as bad). Growing up in Canada I learned that building a car in the 80s was roughly TWICE as expensive as doing it in the US, but things are somewhat better now.

It sucks, but for 10% of the market size you need to deal with customs, brokerage, duties, fees, tons of paperwork, you can't ship ground without a warehouse broker, and so on.

I've moved to the US and soon after all my Canadian friends (this was the 90s) would buy things and have them shipped to my house to reship them... which was of course always painful. So I just started requiring their credit card so I could take it to the full service pack and ship, and people stopped pretty quickly once they realized how expensive it is to do. It's cheap and easy when I was doing the work and paying the fees!

But it goes both ways. I didn't get my Christmas present until February because the Canadian vendor that shipped it to my wife didn't arrange for customs brokerage so it just sat in some warehouse for months and he (the vendor) couldn't find the tracking number!

Montreal is close to the border.
https://www.kinek.com/
I have all my packages shipped to one of their outlets. I get an email saying the parcels in, hop over the border, and of course, declare it on the way back. Can really take advantage of the free shipping some U.S. vendors offer.
Some of the outlets offer lift truck service, never needed it, but who knows one day.

Re: I hate venders with no shipping to canada...

Man Shipping across the US/CA/AK border is no joke. I work for a company that owns the same business in both countries selling exactly the same thing. We cringe every time we have to move something across the border especially from US to CA! Its actually cheaper for us to have it manufactured outside the US, shipped to CA from other countries than crossing our own borders. The problem is all about the TAX and Tarriffs. Customs of CA have absolute authority to stop/hold or return anything they deem out of order. Often they are mistaken, but there is no real recourse in most cases, the shipper eats the costs. So say a product is made in the US and it Costs $100 to make, The company has a buyer in CA for $150. If the product is stopped or returned for any reason at the border, the seller, not the buyer gets to pay all the charges. Now he has a product that costs him $100 to make and $35 to return. Suddenly there is no profit. If its a large item the single return could consume the profit of the next 20 successful shipments. It's a high risk, low reward game. And frankly one thats not in the interest of either countries economies. Su much for "free trade" eh?

Re: I hate venders with no shipping to canada...

everything turned out great other than the fact as a canadian I am not allowed to make an online purchase or select a canadian shipping address. I use a postal service a lot like mentioned above, especially when dealing with other members. As most places will do free shipping or at minimal cost with in the lower 48. but ask them to cross the border and a 11.00$ shipping cost turns into a 95.00% plus broker fees sometimes.

as long as they product are better than the online ordering process for me I will be happy.

It still applies, and that's why there's not usually duty on items made in North America, going either direction.

However, you still have to prove that, and proving it takes paperwork, and paperwork means bureaucracy, and bureaucracy means slow and expensive.
