Moved trailing arm crossmember, C notch and Panhard Bar Question

So...

Sitting on the 'Beer Crate of Contemplation' (tm) yesterday I was looking at the relative positioning of a C notch and aftermarket Panhard bar (in my case No Limit) once the trailing arms had been moved back 1"

Drilling a hole for the top spring cup 1" to the rear is not an issue but when I started thinking about the Panhard bar mount I could see a number of issues arising, namely the lower part of the mount would now be flapping around in the breeze. The part I am referring to is the nice shiny grey part on the left of the photo



Question is then, how have others over come this small issue, is it actually an issue and if it is could I plate between the chassis and crossmember to provide an adequate mounting point for the bottom of the bracket?

I'm not sure if I correctly understand your exact question, but if I am correct, yes you should be able to add a piece between the frame rail and the crossmember to support the panhard bar bracket.

On my 1962 the trailing arm bracket does not move but I do have 1/2 inch longer and adjustable trailing arms. There's no need to c-notch unless you plan on poking a hole where the pumpkin hits the wood. 3 inches frame to axle is plenty shock movement.

The more I look at the Notch the more aggressive it appears.

I am looking to raise my bed floor but even so the amount of clearance the pre made notch provide seems a little excessive...

Will retire to the 'Beer Crate of Contemplation' (tm) at the weekend to reconsider, armed with the a quantity of the 'Beverage of Inspiration' (tm) to work out what my move is going to be.

Just for reference, my shocks hold me at frame. 2" more to sit in notches. The pumpkin is only just coming through and still room in wheel wells with 28.5 tall tire.

I'm not sure if this helps your situation, but I had a clearance issue in a previous iteration of my truck that I had to fabricate a new track bar and put a couple of horizontal bends in it to clear a couple of items - similar to some of the off-road race truck locater bars I've fabricated in the past. I've since removed the components behind the rearend housing, but kept the track bar. This may provide an option to accommodate the one-inch set back without having to move the frame mount.

here's my question is there going to be a rear gas tank? if not, then why not just move that cross brace back 1" also! I mean if your going to move everything else!
