Re: How wode can you go ?

A couple other things are the early narrow housing or the wider later housing wheel offset will also factor in. I've got a deep offset 5.75 with a 50 which is about a 9.5" wide and have less than a 1/2" from rubbing on the inside when tucked and aired out.

Re: How wode can you go ?

I have the narrow housing, so I assume that probably would make it worse..

Re: How wode can you go ?

I just went thru this.

The widest tire I could have fit without cutting anything was at 28x12x15. Only reason I didn't is because they didn't come in the style I wanted.

I ended up with a 275/55/15 on a 15x10 with 4.25 BS.

I have a 67, so mine is the narrower axle according to this site.

Re: How wode can you go ?

Narrow axle only affects the backspacing of the rim. It won't affect tire size.

Re: How wode can you go ?

I'm running a 20x10 with 5.5" backspace. Tire size of 295/45-20 which is 30.45" tall. Total of 8" static drop on the rear and have no rubbing issues at all.

Re: How wode can you go ?

This is all irrelevant information as it will be dependent upon what rim you run (offset/back spacing) if you want to know the width you have to work with go measure from inside your rear tub, from side to side and you will have your number, from there it's a matter of finding the right wheel to maximize that space, you can go into 300 series tires with the right back spacing.
