welcome from va.if its primered i would go over with a magnet look at the rockers/cab supports/cab corners/around windshield and the fiirewall.since its a swb check the frame in the rear to make sure its not a lwb cut down to a swb.its not a problem if its done right but if i was buying a swb then i would want a true swb

What's the asking price and what part of Texas are u in(might get a member to look at it with u).
I'm showing a '72 C-10 came with a 250,307,350,or 400(correct me if I'm wrong) so it may not be an original engine. In addition to rust, look for everything not working or missing, then price those parts with the vendors to see a ballpark of what u will be spending. Beware! These trucks are addictive $ Welcome to the board!

I think Jemost 72 is correct on the 327. I think 68 was the last yr for the 327 in a truck. But the 327 is a very good engine imo. What kind of $$$$ does he want for the truck? And I would ask him why is he selling the truck.

First off Welcome to the Boards, glad to have new members all the time!
Run your hands over the truck body, see if any rust around where Shadetree mentioned. Also see if we can have any memers that are near him, maybe can help him out in the inspection and etc on it!!

Well the truck is by corpus christi and Im in houston so It will be awhile before I go down there and look at it. He works with the guy sellling and he just bought some kind of blazer as his new project so he is getting rid of it. He is asking 800 so if its a little rough with the extra money I can buy replacement parts. As far as the 327 I dont mind Im not gonna restore it to original its gonna be some sort of custom. thanx again

Is it a step or fleet? A nice short fleet box is worth close to 800 by its self.

I would put out a "calling all Corpus Christi Members" post and see if you could find a member who would go take a look at it for you. Doesn't sound like that deal will last long at all!!!!!!
If I wasn't 13 hours away I would go take a look at it for you. I would probably end up saying naw you don't want this truck. Just kidding I would not steal it from you. |
