Those of you who are 2WD lowered on 8" Rally's...wheel spacers?

Especially stepside owners. I have a 78 SCSB stepside that I will be running 8" rally wheels on. My wheels look very inset compared to other trucks running these same wheels. I was curious if anybody here was using spacers to push their wheels out some? I want to run 275/60R15s in the back, and I think I will need spacers regardless, as it seems like the tire would hit the inner fender well.

Thanks in advance

I've already got a full set of 8's...unless you want to foot the bill to ship some 10's to Alaska! LOL.

I just did this very thing on my 86 short wide bed. Get 1" spacers and you'll be all set. My setup is 255/60 on 7" rally's up front. 275/60 on 8s in the rear with 1" spacers.

I have a flip kit and 2 inch drop shackles, running 15x8 rallies and 295/50/15's. No rub but thought about 1" spacers just to bring the tire out.

Re: Those of you who are 2WD lowered on 8" Rally's...wheel spacers?

The need for spacers will depend on the backspacing of the wheel being used. Some wheels might require their use; some won't.

Are you inquiring about factory 8" truck 'Ralley' wheels?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I like this setup. How much room do you have from the tire to the fender?

Is this a stepside? Do you have pictures of your inner fender clearance?

Yes, just stock 73-87 Truck/Suburban 5 lug rally wheels.

Re: Those of you who are 2WD lowered on 8" Rally's...wheel spacers?

I got my spacers on eBay for around 40 bucks shipped. Be sure that the center bore is 82mm or bigger. The hub centric jeep spacers will NOT fit as the center bore is too small. 1" spacers do not require you to cut the factory lug studs down, just bolt them on and bolt the wheel to the spacer.

I have 1/4"-3/8" clearance from the factory non rolled fenderwell lip to the outermost bubble of sidewall bulge.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the info. Looks like they may be out of stock since I cannot find that particular one. They do list a 1.5.

Wow, even with 295's and no spacers? Mine seemed pretty tight even with my stockish tires.
