Re: WANTED 69-72 {4x4} Dog dish hubcaps blue Chevrolet emblem

Are you looking for the true 69-72 1/2 ton dog dish hubcaps which were chrome over brass or the newer stainless steel 73-76 caps? Painted caps were also available, white with black trim and blue or yellow bowtie depending on what year of vehicle they came from. I think I have a pair of the open center 1/2 ton stainless caps, which are actually 73 and newer. Factory 4x4 parts and not a "cut" center. Have to dig them out of the parts stash if your interested.

Ironhorse, I didn't know they are brass, I am looking for the chrome caps with the blue chevy emblem painted on the center. I have a full 73 set of the 4x4 yellow center ones but are a little to dinged up. please let me know your price and condition of your front 4x4 caps. thanks, Steve

Re: WANTED 69-72 {4x4} Dog dish hubcaps blue Chevrolet emblem

As mentioned, the actual 69-72 CHROME caps are brass with the chrome finish. They are really quite soft and are very prone to dings, dents and splits, guess that is why GM kept the design/style in 73 but went to stainless steel material.

The ones pictured are stainless steel, original GM, not a "cut" center hole. Not show but quite nice for a driver. They won't mount to rally wheels with trim rings but work well on stock steelies if that is what you plan to run. Some minor pry marks on the edges from mounting which will not show when on the wheel and a few light marks on edges. No major dents, dings or splits, can do more pics if needed, just let me know what areas. The black is decent but could use a re-paint for a nicer look. $50 plus shipping for the pair, money order or $$ only, do not have Paypal.

well thanks for the info on the different hubcaps. I will give yours some thought and I'm guessing shipping would be around $20 bucks to Redding, Ca 96003. I will stay in touch.

Re: WANTED 69-72 {4x4} Dog dish hubcaps blue Chevrolet emblem

I have an excellent full set of chrome style. They don't look like they have ever been installed but I don't have boxes so I will call them near NOS. I think you would be very hard pressed to find a nicer set.
The bowties are yellow so they would need to be painted blue which is extremely common for people to do. I've done it myself and it is pretty easy.
I was going to put them on ebay but just hadn't found the time yet
I would need $360 including all shipping, insurance and PP fees. If you are interested let me know and I could get you pictures or a link.

a1vintage69, any interest in the pair of caps I have pictured? If not, no problem, will start a new thread listing them for sale.

Not a problem, hope you decide on your wheels, caps and tire combo. Together they make a big statement for a build.

72 tigger, to keep this post uncluttered am making a new post of the 4x4 caps. You will have first dibs if still interested.

I am glad to see 72tigger got first pick on your original 4x4 hubcaps. I am still looking for a good set of 4 if anybody has some. if you only have two let me know. gold or blue chevy emblem chrome or stainless. I have cash or will trade a pair of 68 chevy 4x4 tow hooks for a good set.
