Did I damage my 4X4 '82 K20 Hub

I got into my manual hub as the wheel was a bit loose and tightened up the bearing race. Was in there a while back to change out the U-joint. That went well. But I left that hub locked in and the other not. Drove 200 miles before I checked. I did not engage the transfer case to 4X4. Could I have done some damage?

I wouldn't imagine any damage. it would just spin that axle shaft, and either spin the opposite shaft backwards, or spin the driveshaft

That doesn't sound to me like something that should've hurt anything. Jeep Cherokees (XJ) and other models use a vacuum disconnect on one axle shaft - when in 2WD, one side of the axle's innards are spinning with the wheel and the other is disconnected just inside the axle tube.

As long as you put the hub back together right your good like that.Even if you used 4 wheel drive the unlocked hub wouldn't have gotten power to it and it might pull one way but no damage i can think of even like that. Most of us leave the hubs unlocked for daily driving in the summer,Then in the winter we just leaved the locked for the snow.
