K/10 Emergency Brake routing same as this... ?
I found this thread, but didn't notice it was for Sub's.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=640438 Is the info contained for emergency brake routing the same for K/10's and Subs? Anyone have words of wisdom and/or more pics for connecting the e-brake? Thanks! Sorry for the newbie mistake of wrong forum. |

Re: K/10 Emergency Brake routing same as this... ?
I used that thread when I fixed mine and it gave me enough information to get the cables installed. The biggest issue that I had was routing the front cable from the emergency brake pedal. I have never figured out exactly how it is supposed to be secured / routed along the inner fender when it comes out of the firewall down to the frame rail. I also ran into an issue with the inner cable, I could not get it connected, it wasn’t long enough. I ended up ordering a customer length one from Inline Tube, I was told the factory was 80” (if I remember correctly) but I could not get that to work, so I ended up ordering an 84” one and it worked fine. (My truck is a '72 Longbed)
I also ordered the parking brake cable guide kit from LMC but my truck did not have a place to attach the long rod that I circled in red from that kit. Luckily my truck still had a piece similar to the one pictured in the other thread so I reused that. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...12&postcount=6 Hope that helps some. |
