How many Amps through the temp sender circuit
Hello, I was hoping that some one has already done the research on this and knows what the amperage running through the temperature sending unit circuit is. I added an inline resistor (near the dash) to get my gauge to read correctly with the sending unit that I am using (3/8 fitting instead of standard 1/2). I have it dialed in finally, but wanted to make sure that I'm not going to burn my truck down. I have a 3/4 Watt variable resistor in-line. It is a Cermet style resistor. Anyone have any idea if this will be sufficient or is a potential issue?

Re: How many Amps through the temp sender circuit
The temp gauge draws a very small amount of current. It will not burn your truck down. If there is a direct short you have a fuse in the inst. circuit that will blow unless it the wireing has been cobbled .
