1970 Chevy C20 Rear End

Good day all!

I have a 1970 C20 2WD. I believe its an 8 lug rear end and I have a few questions.

1. What rear end is this?
2. can I easily swap it for a GM 12 bolt from another 67-72 truck?
Thanks for your help!

Re: 1970 Chevy C20 Rear End

If it has a 10 bolt cover it will be either an Eaton HO or a Dana 60.

As long as you get a 12 bolt truck rear end that had the same type of springs (leaves or coils) it will be a direct bolt in. The 1971 and 1972 rear ends are a tad wider than the earlier ones.

But they will more than likely be a 5 lug (1971-1972), or 6 lug (1967-1970).
