Full rubber floor mats?

I bought one years ago for my old K20, now I'm looking to buy another for my new K20. The last one I bought was perfect, almost like it was molded to the floor.

Id really like to avoid buying an ill fitting piece of junk, so if you have recent experience with a new one of these I'm open to suggestions on who has the best fitting high hump full rubber floor mat.

Site member Capt Kaos.

I'm not totally sure he does 67-72, but my squarebody flooring was perfect.

See my build/intro thread (link in signature) for the installation and details.

Re: Full rubber floor mats?

I ordered one for my K20 from Wes about 4 years ago. Out of stock so he had one drop-shipped to me from Brothers. Great fit, looked same as OEM, and no problems.... I would buy it again.

I'd have to look on the box to see where I got mine, it was slightly off but I think the dimmer switch will be OK. I'd like a better fit next time though.

Re: Full rubber floor mats?

ACC - auto custom carpets , they are the manufacturer of most replacement carpets and rubber mats , all these other guys are just resellers of many parts and have them drop
shipped , parts from glass to brake drums , always buy from the manufactor when possible .

Remove the mat or carpets from the box as soon as they arrive and spread them out in the sun or in a warm place to help reduce wrinkles laying a full layer of jute carpet padding down before the mat/carpet works well , also a heat gun/hair dryer on the low sething will help smooth wrinkles and allow it to lay better if possible don't cut holes or trim to fit until it has had time to relax .

Unfortunately I need to update this. Removed the seat yesterday to install 3-point belts, so I got a good close look at the floormat. Four years of very light occasional use, and it's already rotting apart in a few places. Considering the OEM mats lasted a great many years, that bites. A previous mat rotted before I got it installed, and I threw it away. Imported junk rubber I guess....

Re: Full rubber floor mats?

well that's not the news I was hoping for but thank you for the update..

I guess I should have tried to remove my old mat intact as it only had a few damaged areas and I'm not restoring, only cleaning it up..

so I have a '65 high hump 4 speed floor shift that needs a replacement covering..

due to a few rustouts, I don't think spray/roll on coating is the best idea.. I'd prefer to apply a new backing and new rubber mat over some metal repairs..

low pile black carpet a better idea?

anyone have a line on a decent quality rubber replacement for a high hump?
