stabilizer bar install from a 80's check to a 71
Hello all, I am installing a front stabilizer bar from a 86 3/4 ton chevy to my 71 custom 10 1/2 ton chevy. The question I had is do I need to jack up the frame so the a - arms come down to pit it on or put it on while it's sitting on a level surfce. I have to drill the holes to put the hold downs on it too. Any advice would really help. Thanks in advance.

On a level surface, on the ground or have your truck on ramps.

i had enough room under mine (factory ride height) to install while sitting at normal ride height, no ramps or jack required.

You will love the difference in handling with the sway bar installed.

So I just drill new holes for the sway bar u - clamps and neoprene bushings? 2 on the front and 1 set on each lower a-arm. Has anyone ever done one like this? Tho ones on like I see have that long bolt holding it on each lower a-arm and I have that big flat U-band holder with neoprene bushings. Thanks guys I really appreciate all the input!

You shouldn't have to drill any holes.
