New owner of a 63 c10 saying hey from STL.
Just thought I'd drop in a say hello since I am more than likely going to pester the crap out of everyone on here when I start to tear into my project. This will be my first ever build. I have some experience welding and fabricating, just not professionally and not on automobiles. I've done all my own maintenance on all my vehicles in the past so I figured why not just dive in head first. So I picked up this 1963 c10 lwb. No engine, no tranny, no tail gate but the rest is all there. The hood has a good sized crease in it so I am beginning to search for a usable hood and I am quickly learning that in the midwest this may prove to be difficult. There is the typical rust in the door jambs and the floors are gonna need replacing. Bed is solid, front fenders need the inner supports replaced. The glass looks good, though the gaskets are far gone. All the trim is there and in ok shape, except for a 2 inch piece missing behind the passengers door. The interior is all there and looks good, seat needs to be redone.
My plans are to see whats under that ugly red pain, its blue I believe, and repair some rust and possibly leave it with a rough patina paint job. I haven't decided on a drive line. I plan to go air ride and disk brakes on all four corners. I have a lot of work ahead of me. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6...kpxWEVRVnZpS00 |
