I had mechanix gloves on and even then the black steering wheel in the firebird got too hot to hang onto.

I took a reading of the red fiberglass bed cover when the outside temp was 88 here in FL, and the my IR temp gub displayed 145. So, in the desert it would probably be abou 200...

Moved here from Upstate NY, proceeded to buy my 78 c10, in black, with no a/c.
Sometimes you just have to learn things the hard way. I'm not there yet, as I still have the 78, its still black, and I still don't have a/c in it lol.
