Brake pedal is too high after replacing brake booster

The rod that connects to the pedal is already threaded in as far as it will go. What are my options for lowering the pedal? (1975 350 C-10)

Re: Brake pedal is too high after replacing brake booster

Any chance either the old booster or the new booster was the wrong one?

I replaced mine a few months ago and it was a drop in replacement, no adjustment needed. Also a 75 C10. Got mine from Autozone.

Seems to me that there is a mechanical limit on how high the brake peddle will go, How much free play do you have before the brake begins to engage? An inch or two would be okay.Maybe your brake peddle was too low before the booster was installed or the peddle was reinstalled incorrectly.

You might get more replies if you give more information.

Is it Delco or Bendix brakes and a picture might help.

Re: Brake pedal is too high after replacing brake booster

Read in another post that the there are maybe different pin holes in the peddle mount for regular brakes and hydro boost brakes. Just did mine w/a Tough stuff Master and booster, bolted right up.
