I need a dash speaker
So I bought the Retro Sound radio and a speaker. The speaker came from one of the online suppliers to our trucks (can't remember which). It has two small speakers in it and is mounted to a nice black plastic. Problem is there is no way it would fit my truck - there is nowhere under there to bolt it up! Anyway, I think a single speaker will be fine. I can always get a more powerful single speaker - I'm not picky on sound - plus the diesel won't be something I could drown out with any number of speakers.
So what single speaker can I run under there? Is there one that bolts up? |

Re: I need a dash speaker
Have you tried a standard 6X9?. I used to have a 65 Chevy II Nova, and I bought a cheap 6X9 for the dash, and it sounded great in it. I'm going to try one in my 65 Suburban soon.

Re: I need a dash speaker
No matter what speaker you put under there you will need the factory mounting brackets. Do you have any of those?

Re: I need a dash speaker
I believe Freds truck parts online offers a replacement under dash speaker that suppose to be awesome! I haven't installed one yet, but I've seen a lot of people using them. Im unsure if hes a vendor here or not though.

Re: I need a dash speaker
So the speaker I have is that autosound model. I see that its supposed to wedge up there but I don't have any of the brackets that are shown in some of those links. I have a brake and can bend up anything but if this bracket is available and will fit my plate with the two little speakers I would rather buy it. If anyone knows a vendor who sells it please let me know.
