71 K-10 Operation "Mind Easer"
I have been reading a lot of you guy's builds and thought maybe I might join in on mine. A year and half ago I had some things come up in my life that were life changing to say the least and needed something to ease my mind. Yes it was a woman. Lol. I am a chief engineer on a towboat and plenty of time to day dream about projects and what not when I get home. I originally was planning on fixing my 85 K-20 which would have been easier and cheaper but decided on a truck from my hometown that had been taken apart for a restoration in 1996. The guy that had it planned on restoring it for his son. They took the truck apart and started the process of rebuilding the front end painting the frame and actually built a sbc 400 for it. To make a long story short the son lost interest and wanted a Iroc Camaro instead so there was the truck all in pieces. Over the next 19 years people from home and even the UPS man was going to buy it, but when they all saw the shape that it was in they all changed their minds. So I called him 19 years later to see if he still had it and he said that he did so the day I got off the boat to go see it. The frame and cab sat out side for all those years trees growing up through it, ball joints rusted shut but I wanted a challenge and I got it.

Yes I do. I eat sleep and breath that truck. I order parts for one month while I am on the boat and go home for a month and it's like Christmas every other month with all my new parts. My kiddos even get in the action. They have this idea in their heads that all people build there own vehicles. I am starting them off right.

The cab is looking good after a new floor, rockers, can corners, kick panel extension's, and roof skin. For this cab to be sitting outside under a tree for 19 years the visor and firewall where in great condition.

You are doing some nice work! Glad you were able to get the truck after all those years.

Re: 71 K-10 Operation "Mind Easer"
Thank you for the compliment. A lot of people thought that I was crazy. My plan is to have it on the road before a year of me buying it which will be 8/26. All the parts are bought just waiting on paint.
