Anyone able to source new disc brake conversion parts for less than $700?

So I am planning on converting my my '65 C10 to disc brakes up front later this summer. Seems like all the complete kits (calipers, discs, spindles, MC, booster, proportioning valve etc) are priced from $800 and up. But I have been able to piece together a a kit myself from different websites totaling $700 shipped no tax.

Has anyone pieced together (or know of a complete kit) cheaper than $700? I'm talking new parts only.

Prices on somethings have just about doubled in the last 5 yrs. Shipping also.. $700.00 shipped would be a good price. CPP grand slam kit $1300.00...

sounds like the front end is going the be entirely Chinese. most times you only get what you pay for!

You can save money by getting some parts from your local auto parts store.
The master cylinder , calipers, bearings , seals ,brake hoses ,rotors ( if going with 5 lug) and all front end suspension can all be sourced locally.
You can buy the spindles and prop valve and lowering springs from Summit and get free shipping.

I bought a front disc conversion from Auto City Classic for my 56 belair and it was nice. Works great. The only thing I added was a 10 lb residual valve.

This is the kit they offer for $499 but no booster.

The spindles I have in mind are ECE drop spindles. I believe they are USA made.

Yea that's what I have been doing...just sourcing parts from different places to get the lowest total price. I would have used some junk yards to get prices...but it's gonna be straight 100 degree weather for weeks where I live. I'd melt out there pulling parts lol.

$700.00 is a darn good price. To put things in perspective I went with a USED Disc setup from a 73 C-10 $250.00 - by the time I added new Moog front springs, 2 1/2" drop spindles from CPP, 6 lug rotors from CPP, new poly bushings from Summit, new Raybestos Professional Grade Ball Joints, Auto Zone rebuilt Disc calipers, Auto Zone rebuilt Master cylinder etc., etc. I was over $1000.00 - I'm cheap and even used the 73 brake lines across the board and used the 73 proportioning valve but did have to make a bracket to mount it. I even reused the tie rod ends, idler arm & center link since that's all easy to change out if & when necessary. I also added a 1 1/4" sway bar from a 1 ton 75 C-30 then of course had to do the large POWER BRAKE pedal modification along with the suspended gas pedal. Are these trucks ever done?

What all comes in thees kits? I have a 5 lug setup with drop spindles that I've decided not to use. Problem is I can't find the info on them to get brand name and whatnot. They are brand new but came on a frame I bought. I've got to figure out what I have

"At the wheel kit" usually comes with discs, calipers, spindles, brake hose, bearings etc.

Some complete kits include the above and comes with the master cylinder, brake booster, and proportioning valve.

Some kits also come with new ball joints and tie rod ends.

I believe the spindles should have the manufacturer mark stamped on them...check that out.

If you want to use new parts, you're close to the best price you're gonna find. This is my purchase list for disc conversion with some other suspension parts, came out to $650. I found a booster and MC on craigslist for $25. Add another $30 for new hardlines and $40 for a proportioning valve.
