1972 SWB LS Accuair remodel.

A customer came to me about a year ago looking for a 67-72. I found him a great deal on a basket case. Literally picked the truck up in baskets and crates. After getting it into the shop and sorting all the parts out, it was all there. The plan was a LS swap, full Porterbuilt, Accuair and so on. parts started coming in. then is all changed.....

Johny G from Johny G's Garage decided it was time to sell his 72. I knew the history of the truck and knew Johny did a great job with the LS swap and the truck had proven miles on it, so I pulled the trigger for the customer. Big thanks to Johny for driving it down from LA to make the deal happen.

I put 400-500 miles on the truck to figure out what we wanted to do and what we wanted to change. The truck was basically all there. Suspension worked well, Accuair air worked. So apart it came for paint and body. DJ, the same painter I used on the 66 interior took on the rust repair, body work and paint in his shop, while we put a new sub floor in the bed, mocked up the new bedwood and strips. when it goes back together, it will get a full rewire, possibly interior color change, 2" taken out of the seat height, vintage air from AZ Pro Performance, a few small suspension upgrades, A full stereo using all out speaker components and who knows what else.

It will be a fun project. it was a solid truck when we got it from Johny and excited to put the Fred's Truck Parts twist on his work.

It had all the right pieces to start and was going to be quicker to modify to our liking then build from scratch.

He does. Thats why I didnt hesitate to pick it up for the customer I am building it for. I drove it daily for about a month prior to the tear down. It worked great.
