Prayer for my dad and my family

My dad is a long time lurker on this board that never registered. He brought me to the board and gave me the 69 I am rebuilding.

About a two weeks and a half ago he went into the hospital for Pneumonia. By the time I got to the hospital he had consented to be put on a respirator. At 52 my dad is probably not going to make it. Mainly due to his lifetime of smoking and drinking his organs are not functioning properly. We need prayers to be able to make the right decision.

My sister is giving birth to her second child in a week and my wife will be having our first in about three weeks. I am a Baptist minsiter and counselor abd would appreciate the prayers.

I simply don't know what to say. I tried to put myself in your situation, but could not even begin to understand how you must be feeling right now. Please take care, and you and yours will be in my thoughts.

What a shock for a family. I don't know the situation but I do know 52 is too young to die. I hope you have a strong family to get everyone through whatever happens. I hope it all works out.

You, your father and your family will be in my prayers.
My father is also 52 and that is too young.
God will always be there to take you through this tough time along with many others, but of course you already knew that.

I too will pray. I do understand as my significant other has not been able to break the smoking habit and I never want to know the pain you family is going through. Endure this hardship like a good soldier. 2 Timothy 2

I lost my Dad last July, so I can feel your pain (to coin a phrase). You'll be on my list.

Obviously we are all a close knit bunch on here (my recent experience as an example) and I can only say that along with the rest here I truely wish you and your family well and hope to hear about your father enjoying those new grandbabies when they get here. I'm going through a situation with my grandma right now that put a scare in all of my family so I really can relate to how you're feeling now. So, yes, you and yours will be in my prayers both for him to get better and then some joyous ones when he is well!

Primered 69-
This post hit home for me...My mom died of Pneumonia at 42. She went in the hospital, got put on the respirator after a few days, and her condition developed into what they call "Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. They couldn't keep her oxygen saturation levels up even on a ventilator and her organs slowly shut down. My Dad, 2 sisters and 2 brothers and I had to discuss whether to turn off the life support. We prayed and prayed and finally decieded that we would sign the paperwork the next morning. Before they were going to unplug the life support we all went in and said our goodbyes (even tho' she was unconcious) and when my Dad came in crying and said "Baby it's okay, we will miss you, but you can go." It wasn't 2 minutes and her body just shut down. We were so thankful that she went without us having to "unplug" the lifesupport...I can relate to the grief your family is going thru. I had just had my 1st child (a boy) just 4 weeks to the day before she died. She would have been a beautiful grandma! I will pray every night for God's grace upon your family in such a time of need! God bless, and keep you and yours. His plan is great, just hard for us to understand sometimes.
Diane
