Random Ponderings
Does anyone have any insight on GM 6.2L diesel 4X4 conversions on a Task Force truck? I am trying to gather parts for this while my project collects dust (and everything else) in my shop. I located a newer model Chevy 5 speed manual transmission with transfer case (driver side drop) and the same fella has a Dodge (Dana 60, I think) front axle which has the driver's side differential. I read on another build thread (Luther Grimace, I think) that the Dodge Dana 60's are a little more narrow than the GM Dana 60's. He is asking more than my budget can support right now, but at least I know where they are. The question I have is if there would be any clearance issues with the front driveshaft if I keep the brake master cylinder in the factory location, but upgrade to power brakes? I am not against putting the brake booster and master cylinder on the fire wall, either, providing that there is room with the 6.2L power plant. Thanks in advance.
