Went out the other day and all of the sudden truck wont start. Had battery checked. its ok Changed starter. No luck. It trys to turn over but acts like the battery is low. I can pull start it (standard) and then it runs fine. Alternator charging and every thing seems to work but kill it and back to square one. Any Ideas?????

I am not sure if its going to be the same, but I think so....
Assuming you have a classic chevy, and assuming you have a distrubuter....

This happened to me too, here is what I found out, the hard way.

Take the number one spark plug wire off, place a screw driver in between the plug wire and the spark plug....... get a spark?
if you did I dont know your problem...
If you didnt, I do...
Take the cap and rotor off of you distributer, now there is a little chip thing (ignition modual) that is what went bad on my truck...
I think the part is maybe like $10 @ your local autoparts store..
That what I did and I had the same simtums you did execpt my truck wouldnt start at all, just wanted to, but never turned over.

Thanks for the post but its getting fire. has to be something else. It acts like the battery is low but its not.

remove your battery cables and check them with a DVOM, and see how much resistance each one of them has. i bet one of them is bad. when trying to crank it, does one of them get real hot? if so, that's probably your problem cable. i've had several cables go bad on me, problem gradually gets worse, so you dont really notice it until it becomes a real problem.

adding to what jeremy said id also check the grounds while youre at it ive seen them go bad too causing such symptoms

good point Bob, make sure they didnt just work loose. i should've mentioned that, since i've had it happen to me numerous times.
