New Stereo.

Hey I need to pick out my parts list. I have $1000 to spend.

BUT i am out of the game and do not want to buy the wrong thing. I listen to Classic rock and 80s country.

Any suggestions?

Any help would be appreciated. Going int o a 89 crew.

Re: New Stereo.

So my brother had a stereo (not sure what kind) but I believe it played his I-Phone music through Bluetooth. Actually could change between songs and such with the stereo remote or Siri. Probably cost a few bucks but amps and speakers are a dime a dozen on CL. If I had an I-Phone That's what I would be looking at.

Re: New Stereo.

I was in your position a couple years ago prior to installing the stereo into my 1980 Suburban. There was a time in the late 80's or so I felt like I knew the car stereo market well enough to make good decisions, but even with the assistance of the Internet I knew I couldn't get up to speed quick enough now to get good tunes going in my rig.

I've been extremely happy with the RetroSound radio I bought. I can confidently recommend their latest "Model Two" which includes bluetooth and Iphone built in. I'm running the older "Model One" and have been completely happy. It sounds great and the radio works well in my semi-rural and mountainous area. They aren't the cheapest head unit option out there, but it was important to me to not cut the dash. Your budget is good enough that the Model Two should still allow you to fill out the system with really good amps, speakers and subs.

If your dash is already cut, then a whole different world of choices opens up that I'm not qualified to comment on.

Re: New Stereo.

Being an 89 it is a din and a half so the knob style is not used.
