What Year and What's It Worth?
Got an opportunity to buy a GMC truck and I'm wondering what year it is for sure and roughly how much its worth. Guy said to make an offer.
It's got a v6, few windows broken, unsure if motor is stuck or not. bed it shot. Inside floor looks pretty good, not rusted through. Few fenders are rusted bad but... Any help would be appreciated guys. |

Re: What Year and What's It Worth?
Looks like a '60 with a different hood. What it's worth? Hard to say. Does it have good/clean title? Something like that here is Az would probably go for about 1500 or so if the title is good. I've seen a few go for less that 1K out here too. I guess it comes down to what you're willing to pay, knowing about how much you'll have to put into her. That's of course just my guess. Good luck...

I think I broke the VIN down correctly and I think it's a 62. 1000 series with a 127" wheelbase.

Re: What Year and What's It Worth?
Sounds more like it. On the engine, there is a number stamped on the front of the block behind the fuel pump near the thermostat housing. It will say what
v6 it is. http://www.6066gmcguy.com/EngineData.html

Re: What Year and What's It Worth?
wrap around windshield with clear signal lights on a 62-66 hood, definitely a 62 if parts haven't been changed up

Depends alot on what you are looking for? One to fix/restore or to part out. If it was in East TN, I would offer $300 but wouldn't go over $500.

Re: What Year and What's It Worth?
I already have my grandpas 64 c10 and don't "need" another but my brother is interested in it. He doesn't want to do a frame off restoration, but wouldn't mind getting it running and driving. leaving the paint and dents and such.

Re: What Year and What's It Worth?
Welcome to the board, from a little SE of you. I also think it's worth $500 max. Is there is a straight panel on it? Looks like it will take a lot of body work, and that's where most people struggle.

Re: What Year and What's It Worth?
Ehh not many straight panels. But I/my brother don't mind a few dents. I think its too hard to keep stuff absolutely clean and straight. Everytime a bird craps on it I wouldn't be afraid to let it sit.

Re: What Year and What's It Worth?
Neat thing is that if it has the original V6....it'll last quite awhile if taken care of. I know a guy who has a 305 V6 powered truck with 600,000 on it!
