Need some help

My 71 blazer ran fine and then I put it into winter storage two years ago. Tried to start it last year and it wouldn't start so I just ignored it. Well this summer I tried starting it again with no results. I have power to the hei. I tried putting gas in the carb to help it start but it just cranks and cranks. Anyone have any suggestions? I am honestly thinking its the distributor itself, but maybe the carb? It is a brand new edelbrock 1406. I installed it and drove it maybe 10 times then it went into winter storage. I know during the winter two years ago it was running very oddly. The fast idle would come on as soon as any pressure was put on the gas pedal. So I messed with the timing and whatnot, but it doesnt even sound like its trying to fire now. I would love to hear suggestions.

Re: Need some help

!st check it for spark. If it has spark then the fuel could be a problem. If it has spark try some starting fluid if it fires you know the fuel is probably bad. if not more likely the distributer is bad.
