Step Side Raising the bed 4 Inches.
This Is A Step Side Bed Question.
I need to raise the bed 4 inches to clear the Rear Raised rail Kit from No Limit Engineering. TWO Questions (I know I need to raise the angle strips that run the length of the bed no issue there.) Questions: 1. Do I raise the sill in the rear? If I don't and I still use the standard tail gate there will be a gap between the sill and the bed wood visible when I drop the tail gate. So do I raise it or fill that in with a strip of matching wood? 2 Raising the angle strips will create a gap between the front cross support and the bed wood. Do I put a spacer to raise the cross support or on top under the wood. WHat have you seen done. OK Three questions... I had to cut the back of the frame off it was rotted at the shock and spring mounts. That is why I went with the No limit Rear Raised rail kit. (say that 3 times real fast). So if anyone you know or if you have done this I would appreciate some input. Thank You in Advance! Dan - Fort Wayne, IN |
