Hey
I"m curious on what is better to do for a mustang two front end..
Run the longer fairmount tie rod ends (longer than stock ones) or extend the rack with the kit to make it work??

How was the track widened? By using a wider crossmember or by using longer A arms?
Wider crossmember I'd probably go with a longer or extended rack but if it has longer A arms I'd go with the longer tie rod ends. Match the stretch if you will.

The track is the normal 60-61 inches but for a mustang two suspension, With the normal tie rod ends it wouldn't reach.
There for there is two option
extend the rack with heidits kit or use the longer tie rods from fairmount..

the thunderchicken rack for my fatman mustII came with a 4.25'' extender

If the pivot point of the A arms is the same distance as stock but you need to reach the spindles you have because they are different I'd go with the longer rod ends. The TF guys need a wider crossmember to work with their frames and that is why they need the extended rack.

This is how you figure out the rack length to eliminate bump steer.
Ford has a multitude of racks and rod ends to interchange with and get very close to perfect. Get an old Moog book it will have all the measurements in it.

Thanks, I saved that. It also works for a tie rod/center link off the steering box setup.
