Re: K&n or airaid
I am running a Volant CAI. I ran an Airaid on my 04 I used to have. And prefer the Volant that I have on my 08 GMC. I am running the powercore filter.

Re: K&n or airaid
Look into the air cleaner setup that Banks sells. It is a good design and controls the "Heat Soak" that many intakes suffer from. I threw my K&N into a swap meet after having it for a year or so. The IAT Inlet Air Temps were really high using it.

Re: K&n or airaid
I would like to post my thoughts about K&N but its politically incorrect. K&N in my mind is basically a window screen with stringy sticky glue sprayed across it. Then the glue fouls the maf sensor, lovely!
A friend complained about poor duramax performance in the summer after a K&N was installed. Opening the hood revealed an open element sucking engine heat not to mention potentially water which is certain death to diesels. I checked another friends stock duramax and looked at his air cleaner assembly and low and behold the factory draws in cool outside air from the passenger inner fender area and a great spot to be nice and DRY!! I guess this isn't good enough for K&N! |
