Re: Thoughts on this truck....
I was looking at that thing, I would say you're buying a frame and a title. Not a bad deal but definitely a project.

That grille is straighter than it has a right to be and oh look. It has that flow through tail gate on it. 😉

Re: Thoughts on this truck....
I wouldn't pay $500 for it.....
I just bought a rust free '70 CST C10 for 1K here in Ca. (seller wanted $2500 but was very motivated) It even had a bed side tool box !

Re: Thoughts on this truck....
If the frame is nice, title good and vin plate intact I would buy it.A real short bed not a cut down long bed!![a little humor].If you have the room and spare change you can't go wrong..probably could get it a bit cheaper.

Re: Thoughts on this truck....
I love trucks like that. Don't look beyond the rust or remove it, look at it. It's a beauty. Just get it mechanically working, wash the windows, and drive it as is.

Re: Thoughts on this truck....
Location plays a big part in it. That truck you got for $1,000 would cost $2,500 to have in the East. It's worth hauling a rust free truck from the west back east but not the opposite. any truck is worth $500 if it is that complete. This one isn't so awfully rusted that I can see, except the tailgate. I've seen those rust out like that on trucks that hardly had other rust. this one shows typical rust, but some heavy surface rust... way beyond patina. Most trucks end up with new hoods, fenders, and doors, with cab rust repaired. This one could be not so bad.

Re: Thoughts on this truck....
I would buy it, there is surely parts that could be sold if it is not able to be restored. You could probably get it for 300. I have seen trucks get parted out on here that should have been left drivers.

I'm going to call about it just to kinda get a feeling for the seller's opinions on it...now days everybody thinks everything(they have) is worth a fortune...

Re: Thoughts on this truck....
I don't have the time, the money, or most of all, the space for any more "problem" vehicles. Calling him would only waste his time.
You guys have at it though.....probably some ultra rare 292 in there worth thousands. *I'm sure Permatex could be gotten in drums. You may need it! |
