74 deluxe two tone paint code question: 486
Does anyone know which color (and white) make up this two tone paint code? Thanks for the assist. I think I know, need someone to QA my brain.
Ok, found my own answer - white/Mojave tan. NEW question: Is Mojave Tan just the 73+ name for Saddle Poly from 60-72? Thanks! |

Re: 74 deluxe two tone paint code question: 486
The 1974 paint code 486 describes 555 Grenada Beige (sales name) with 521 Frost White applied in the Deluxe Two-Tone scheme.
For more information on GM paint code 555, crosses, WE number and years used see links. But it does look like GM used it only in 74 production and limited 75 use as pace car gold. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...nuf=GM&rows=50 http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...=Granada Beige http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...=50&size=large

Re: 74 deluxe two tone paint code question: 486
Thx Tim - I did finally find that, incl the Pace Car Gold. When I cross ref'ed it to other GM names (like "tangier" = "Omaha" orange) I did not get a match with any saddle poly paints. In the ad I was considering, the truck sure looked like saddle, but turns out it wasn't. This is a GREAT looking color though. Thanks for looking.
