5.5/7 drop kit questions (mainly bout the c-notch)
About to get a C-notch kit from CPP, and had some questions
Do I need to remove the upper spring plate when installing the c-notch? How much clearance should I get with the 7 inch drop in the rear? How accurate are the instructions? Ive heard of some of the 'reference holes' to be off. And if anyone has any pics of their 5.5/7 drop, post em up!

You will not have to remove the upper spring plate to install the C-notch. I'm not sure how much clearance you'll get on the 7" drop. The instructions are ok but lacking detail.

Re: 5.5/7 drop kit questions (mainly bout the c-notch)
I traced the profile of the C-notch onto a piece of thin cardboard and used one of the bottom reference holes to determine how far back to locate the cut out. I oversized the cutout approx. 1/4" larger than the trace.

I bolted on the C-notch and also welded it into place.

My truck is 5.5" and 8" and I have no issues with bottoming out in the rear. I don't haul anything other than a plastic tote, chairs and maybe a cooler.

That's my drop and I used the CCP notches also. I did it the hard way with the bed on because the 4/6 just wasn't enough and I had already painted.
It's pretty self explanatory once you get the notches in hand. Maybe a little massaging, but should be pretty straight forward.

good info. I just ordered a load of goods from CPP and a handful of other places and had the same question regarding the c notch.

I run stock inner fenders in my truck. No issues. But, it depends on what size tire you run, tire size and wheel backspace. If your tires are too tall, it may rub on big bumps.

and you are running 5.5/7 drop? for now i will be on stock 15s i want to drive it around a good bit not 100% daily it but i dont want to give up on the stock inner fender wells for a little while. I do not mind if it scraps a little on big bumps.

Re: 5.5/7 drop kit questions (mainly bout the c-notch)
Sorry for the delay. I am running 5.5 and 7" drop on my truck. I like the way it looks but honestly it rode better with the stock springs up front. I have 3" drop springs. Not a huge fan of the ride now.
