1961 heat/AC vents ????
We are installing the aftermarket heat/AC. I am looking for some vent ideas, I am really not fond of the plastic "hang under" the dash vents, I am looking for some neat rat rod or resto mod ideas, or something factory looking. Any help??? I am really stumped!

Look at '58-'60 passenger car AC vents. I bet those could be made to work, and they definitely look factory.

Re: 1961 heat/AC vents ????
Glad you asked! I felt the exact same way about my plastic cheap looking vents that came with my Vintage Air system. I scout the local self service wrecking yards just looking for ideas. I look at EVERYTHING! You never know what you might find. While strolling through one of the local self serve yards on 1/2 off day I wondered through the Chrysler section and found some real metal chrome under dash mount A/C vents in a 64 Chrysler Newport. I think I got the pair for $9.00. Don't get me wrong, I took them home disassembled them, cleaned & polished every little vent flap and probably have a good 10 hours time in the pair to get them to look this good. It took me another 3 years to locate the 3rd (middle) vent to match. That one I paid I think $35.00 for on eRape but it was worth it to me. I'm still not done. I added a tilt from a 72 Chevy van $99.00 eRape again AND picked up a foot operated E brake assembly 1/2 off sale from a Caddy so when I drop my truck into Dr or Rev it will release the parking brake automatically. I'm CHEAP & LAZY! I'll never forget to release the parking brake ever again. I haven't installed the E brake assy. yet, my 64 C 10 is on the back burner for a while. Oh, that last pic? Yep that's my 71 M&M Hearse towing my friends boat in Reno. Yep, I'm Cheap, LAZY and a "little" WEIRD too!

Re: 1961 heat/AC vents ????
i think the side vents that i created for 1964,1965,and 1966 will work just fine and look the part as well. i modeled them off the original center vent balls just mine are smaller.
