With all the truck out in Oklahoma, a rusted donor would be a good candidate for a patch panel.

Yeah, I may have to end up going that route, but I thought it would be easier if there is an aftermarket patch for it.

I read on here somewhere you could cut it out, reverse it & weld it on top. don't know if it is true.

Interesting. If it did work, obviously the 'flare' in the body molding wouldn't be there, but maybe I could shape it in with some fiberglass.

Has anyone ever done this?

It seems that those who have the spare tire fender don't want it and those who don't have it want it.
Try to find someone who wants the spare tire notch and trade.
