Crew cab speakers

Does anybody know if there is wiring for speakers in the rear doors? There is speakers in the rear pillar, but none in rear doors, but wanna add some. Also does anyone know of a speaker box that goes under the seat? Like to add a lil bump, but don't wanna go crazy or have to cut or build something..

Re: Crew cab speakers

Seems whenever I do hit a local shop, they only carry for the new stuff. I actually have two sets of the old school truck boxes that go behind the seat, they need speakers n wiring but since there free, but need to measure both box and behind the seat to see if they fit without moving seat too far forward. I'm sure they make a box, if they could fit 2 12" subs in a box under the seat of my double can tundra, they could make one for a crew cab lol...

Re: Crew cab speakers

The problem on the crew cabs is there's a crossbar across the front of the seat from side to side, there isn't a way to get a box under the seat without some fabrication being involved, and best I can search, no prefab boxes for under the rear seat of a GMT400 crew either.

There's a lot of guys on Facebook in the GMT400 Crew Cabs facebook group running Regular Cab boxes behind the back seats of their crews with good results.

Re: Crew cab speakers

Prolly what I'll end up doing. I have two sets of those boxes, find the smaller of the pair n run em. The rear seat is on tracks, just not easily adjustable, so should have room. Maybe one of these days I'll get motivated n build something that fits under the seat.....

Re: Crew cab speakers

I've got a friend with an extra set of brackets from a crew cab rear seat that he took off to put a bench in his regular cab, I keep meaning to pick them up from him so I can cut and weld them into my existing brackets to raise my rear seat a few inches in a decent looking manner. If I could get that done, I'd try and build an underseat box more like the ext cab prefab boxes.

Re: Crew cab speakers

Local junkyard has half a dozen crews, maybe snag a frame off one....
