Clam Shell to Barn Door ??

Hey guys ...

I'm in the market for a late 90's suburban.

I never paid attention to the rear body, but can the rear gate/hatch be swapped out for barn doors 'easily' as in the early ones ??

Re: Clam Shell to Barn Door ??

I don't think so. I had a 92 that had a tailgate, and kinda wanted the barn doors, but after looking at one, need to weld the hinges on the inside of the 1/4s by the tail light. Might be easy, but to me it didn't look like it lol....

Re: Clam Shell to Barn Door ??

I happen to own 2 93 Burbs, one hatch and one barn door, there is no easy way to swap them at all. Find the style you prefer and buy that one. I personally prefer the hatch

my Tahoe is side-by-side and I don't like it. It's always in the way when I look in mirror. I'd like to go the opposite way as you. I think the best would be like an Astro van, one on top and 2 on bottom
