Allison 1000 clear a 3500 crew cab without body lift or floor hacking?

My new 88 crew is in huge need for an overdrive. Medium term plan is to 6BT with Allison but thinking about swapping the Allison in now behind the 454 until I can complete the Cummins swap. Anyone know if it will clear the floor?

wont even come close. 4l80e takes up all the room available itself.

Ohoo...... I would like to check this out. Nothing like seeing something in person when fact checking. When is the install happening?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I swapped out my rear end gears from 4:10 to 3:54 and added a gearvendors unit last year to my 87 R30 CCD. Gas mileage almost doubled from 8 to almost 16mpg highway.
When the overdrive kicks in it's like running 2:77 gears.

A 4l80e was an easy swap on my 4x4, and its plenty strong enough behind the cummins if you decide to go that route. Sure made driving my '90 model CC a lot better, especially above 65mph. Running 4.10s right now, planning on swapping to my 4.56 axles and still wont be revving too high

I put a 1000 series allison in my crew cab and it fit under the floor. Mine was a 2 wheel drive and I changed the hump to a bolt in 4x4 hump.I used a Destroked adapter and kept the chevy bellhousing on the trans instead of the sae bellhousing.

That looks pretty slick! Ive been researching what trans/ engine combo to run in my next CC build. Been kicking around dmax lbz/ ally, lbz/zf 6, or 6.7/g56 or maybe MDT tranny. Did you have to mount it much lower than a normal swap? Theres no way in heck an Ally would fit behind my 8.1 at the stock mounting height without tunnel mods... Thats why i went 80e.

Maybe next Sunday. I spent today getting the Cummins swapped C30 ready to sell. I picked up the tan one a couple weeks ago going to use it instead of the white one.

That dually up for sale..... How clean is the gate? I'm looking to purchase a cleaner red unit vs the one I have on my 89 (looks like the bed is red is why I ask).

The new CC lwb truck is nice. I've seen that one & his 3/4 ton burb. Both were very clean.
