Under Dash Lights

Does anyone have the under dash lights from the factory on their Blazer/Jimmy? if so can you post the RPO Code from the Spid and the terminology of the words.

Re: Under Dash Lights

At least in 72 the k5 courtesy lights came w the optional top and we're not a stand alone rpo per the dealer model selector manual. For the 69 MY courtesy lights are rpo U29.

Re: Under Dash Lights

Got them installed today with the LED's. With Roger Koops' wiring harness its plug and play just took me a while to figure out where to plug. I used the factory holes in the pics. The pic was in the garage with door closed but I think the will be brighter outdoors in the night. My dome light is LED too.

Re: Under Dash Lights

Those light look good! Since I've been working on my 72 ive been discovering things, but the courtesy lights aren't one of them. I think I may go this route-

Nice seats-are they factory or you obtain them from a donor? My buckets are long gone replaced with a bench.

Re: Under Dash Lights

The seat came in the truck and is original to it. If you haven't already saw the Highlander thread here is a link.

I had no idea that even existed. What a cool thread. Thank you for sharing that. I scrubbed my SPID and didn't see it on mine...

Re: Under Dash Lights

Greg looks great - thanks for sharing.

Korn - your Blazer looks to be a Flint truck assembled later in the 72 MY and as such should have a single wall top with no under dash lights, those are for double wall K5s. Pete

I hadn't even considered that, I guess because I haven't got that far. And the Flint peice makes sense as my engine code is the 0010 engine with V05I2TDR which if I've read correctly is a truck 350 assembled in Flint May 12 of 72-is that right? Talked to my father in law when I was leaving town on Monday to ask about the motor in the Blazer. He said he never touched it and he was second or third owner, buying it in like 84/85 time frame. Lots can happen in 10+ years, but it isn't likely that it's been swapped. I changed the cam/intake/HEI/exhaust in 2008 and haven't done much else since then either. I am guessing it's a "numbers matching" block, but still haven't dug as far yet. I'm loving the info you all are gracious enough to provide.
-K

I forgot to add that my seats which are bench were changed out by him. He got rid of the buckets so my wife and brother in law could sit up front on hunting trips when they were small kids. My brother in law hates this truck-why you may ask? He is always reminded that he was conceived in the back seat of this thing-hilarious!

Re: Under Dash Lights

That's a funny story! Yep Flint motor May 1972 for auto tranny. That's about as good as it gets for "numbers matching" as GM had since ceased stamping VINs onto blocks.

Ps - please vote in the paint poll if you can: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=709025
