Tire Fitment

I have 235/70r15 tires that I would like to place on 15x8.5 slot wheels on the front. I just bought these slots and thought they were 8 inches. The rims do fit over my disk brake conversion. Just unsure of the tire width. I will have 275/60 r 15s on the rear.

Re: Tire Fitment

What exactly is your question? Will the tires fit on the rims? I have 235/75r15's on 15x8 rallys, I don't see that another 1/2 in would make a lot of difference although they will balloon out a fair amount.

Re: Tire Fitment

Yes, my concern is that the rims might be too wide for the tire.

IMO Yes they will be too wide for that tire. They will work if you already have them. IMO 235/75 is too narrow for the rally wheel 8" but that's what they came with. To get the same sidewall look as the 275 you need a 245/60

Re: Tire Fitment

Why not run the 275/60R15's up front also? That's what I run on my '66 Suburban. Of course some people don't like that look.

Re: Tire Fitment

I already have the 235/70r15s. They are on all 4 corners on white wagon wheels. Tires still have quite a bit of tread left so thought I'd keep them on front for now if they fit with the newly acquired 8.5 inch slots. Haven't measured the wagon wheels but believe they are 6-7 inches wide.
